Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

The selected candidate will lead the Global Hawk HALE UAS Mission Engineering initiative, enabling the system to achieve current mission goals and identify future missions. This is a highly visible position that will reside in the Global Hawk SE&I team and work closely with the Global Hawk Advanced Mission Solutions Program team and Chief Engineer's office.

Essential Functions:
- Provide technical leadership to the Global Hawk Mission Engineering team.
- Quantify the ability of the Global Hawk system to consistently achieve current mission goals and support the identification of future missions that will define the program roadmap going forward.
- Lead a small modeling and simulation team to identify and translate mission needs into Global Hawk system requirements and associated architectures is required.
- Manage NCTA budgets for mission engineering technical support.
- The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of applied engineering experience OR Master's Degree in STEM and 7 years of engineering experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- An active in-scope DoD Secret clearance
- The ability to obtain program access

Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years' experience performing rigorous mission engineering analyses in one or more of the following areas: survivability, communications systems, navigation systems, intelligence analysis, database management
- In depth Military Aircraft Systems experience
- Experience with cost account management and EVMS
- Expertise with the following analysis toolsets: STK, AFSIM, Matlab, Microsoft Office
- Experience as an Operations Research/System Analyst (ORSA)
- Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
- Active, In scope DoD Top Secret with SCI clearance
