Systems Engineer 3/4

On the Mission Systems Sector team you'll join our experts in developing systems and solutions that keep our world safe. This position reports to the Manager of System Engineering and will be the technical lead on multi-platform navigation projects. This position will work on multi-platform navigation projects and interacts with all levels of system engineering and other engineering disciplines to develop requirements for inertial navigation systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
  • Participate on teams to resolve problems to root cause and effect corrective design actions
  • Presentations to management and customers Translating customer needs into requirements for hardware, software and test verification
  • Organizing and participating in system verification activities

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications:

The basic qualification requirements for a Level 3 are a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years, a Master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 0 years' experience.

The basic qualification requirements for a Level 4 are a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9 years, a Master's degree and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Additional qualifications for both levels are:

  • A degree in Electrical/Systems/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or Physics.
  • Experience with MathCad and Matlab/Simulink

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MathCad and Matlab/Simulink
  • Familiarity with Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) are pluses.
  • A Master's degree is desired in technical discipline.
  • Experience in control system analysis, electronics and inertial measurement technology as applied to advanced inertial measurement and navigation systems and/or experienced in Aircraft Avionics and Cockpit Modernization
