Essential Functions:
The Triton program seeks a candidate to support the Vehicle Management System (VMS) Hardware Avionics team. The VMS group is responsible for vehicle flight control and safety. The Hardware Avionics group is responsible for management of the following VMS subsystems: navigation, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), Radar Altimeter (RadAlt), Air Data System (ADS), flight actuation system, Integrated Mission Management Computer (IMMC flight computer), VTC, and the Ethernet switch. This position has an emphasis on the Navigation subsystem, with the expectation that the candidate will grow as a member of the team and take on additional subsystem duties over time. General duties for the candidate will include: development of requirements for flight critical avionics equipment, informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, conducting trade studies, working with software team to implement requirements, troubleshooting of hardware in lab, supporting flight test activities, resolution of flight test anomalies, supplier management, and responding to customer inquiries. Specific duties related to the Navigation subsystem include support of IFC 4.0 GPS anti-jam integration and testing, support of navigation pallet flight test on truck and King Air, post-flight data analysis, Triton flight test support, and navigation system trouble-shooting in Triton lab and on aircraft.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) Plus a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with navigation systems including GPS and/or inertial sensors.
  • Department of Defense Interim Secret clearance or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree inElectrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering
  • Top Secret clearance
  • Software Tools: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Visio), Matlab, LabView, Clearquest/Clearcase, Simulink, DOORS, TeamCenter
  • Vehicle Management Systems / Flight critical LineReplaceable Unit (LRU)experience
  • Requirements development
  • Requirements verification testing
  • Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers, multi-meters)
  • Experience with databuses (MIL-STD-1553B, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC 429, Ethernet)
  • Flight Test experience
  • Supplier management
  • Deep understanding of the GPS system, the GPS Signal in Space characteristics, DGPS systems, inertial sensors, GPS/INS tightly coupled Kalman filters, GPS receiver design
