Systems Engineer 3 /4

This position reports to the NG Systems Engineering Manager for the Boeing Ground Based Mid-Course Defense (GMD) SEIT Integrated Product Team . Systems Engineer is responsible for developing, documenting, verifying and validating GMD missile system and subsystem requirements to develop, upgrade and sustain the GMD system. She/he works as part of the integrated NG, Boeing and subcontractor systems engineering team. She/he performs system analysis, requirements analysis, functional analysis and allocation, interface definition, requirements verification and validation activities related to the system design. She/he defines, documents and analyzes proposed missile system configurations, specifying test and operational systems component viability. She/he maintains and assesses the current fielded configurations against proposed changes. She/he ensures the logical and systematic impacts of changes against the total system solution. She/he assesses changes against test and operational requirements, with emphasis on technical, schedule, and cost impacts. She/he applies systems understanding in support of program reviews.

This requisition may be filled at a level 3 or level 4 based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

Level 3

  • Engineering background
  • Experience in systems engineering, requirements, and product development processes and application to complex weapon or space systems
  • Experience in complex weapon or space systems requirements verification and validation
  • Experience: 5 years with Bachelors of Science in engineering or a related field; 3 years with a Masters of Science in engineering or a related field; 2 years with PhD in engineering or a related field
  • Must be able to travel
  • Current DOD Secret security clearance

Level 4

  • Engineering background
  • Experience in systems engineering, requirements, and product development processes and application to complex weapon or space systems
  • Experience in complex weapon or space systems requirements verification and validation
  • Experience: 9 years with Bachelors of Science in engineering or a related field; 7 years with Masters of Science in engineering or a related field; or 5 years with PhD in engineering or a related field
  • Must be able to travel
  • Current DOD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Level 3

  • 3 years of missile systems or space launch systems engineering experience
  • DOORS experience
  • Network configuration development and maintenance
  • SIPRNet and TINS experience
  • GMD or other missile defense experience

Level 4

  • 5 years of missile systems or space launch systems engineering experience
  • DOORS experience
  • Network configuration development and maintenance
  • SIPRNet experience
  • GMD or other missile defense experience
