Systems Engineer 3

The Northrop Grumman Undersea Systems business unit in Annapolis, MD is seeking dependable individuals willing to work in a collaborative environment and that are interested in expanding their horizons. As a system engineer you will support complex, dynamic maritime programs of strategic importance to our classified business area and National Defense. Experience with Navy customers and underwater/naval systems such as torpedo's, towed vehicles, Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUV), Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), SONAR/sensor systems, underwater mechanical structures and cabling, submarine payloads, etc. is desired. Experience in anti-submarine warfare, seabed warfare, and Navy tactics would also align within NGUS. Multiple positions are available within the Systems Engineering department and assignments will be made based on the candidate's qualifications. Successful candidates will perform one or more of the following job functions in a team environment:
Requirements Development & Management: Organize and define system level requirements, derive and allocate requirements to subsystems (performing or coordinating analyses as required), manage the requirements baseline in a relational database (such as DOORS), write clear requirement specifications, create Requirements Verification Test Matrices (RVTMs), and collect the objective quality evidence (OQE) that verifies requirements are met.
Interface Development & Management: Identify external and internal interfaces, define parameters that characterize those interfaces (performing or coordinating analyses as required), develop interface control documents & deliverables, and participate in system architecture & design development to resolve interface issues and ensure interface compliance.
Concept of Operations (CONOPS) Development & Management: Identify operational objectives, constraints, and interdependencies, develop detailed process-oriented procedures (performing or coordinating analyses as required), maintain configuration control of CONOPS procedures, coordinate CONOPS reviews, and participate in full team CONOPS demonstrations.
Integration & Test: Develop comprehensive test plans, write detailed test procedures, coordinate and participate in integration and test activities, diagnose and trouble-shoot test anomalies, complete test data analysis, and write concise and clear test reports.

All job functions will include close teamwork across functional disciplines and integrated product teams. This program area is expanding which offers the potential for future growth opportunities (technical lead, system architect, etc.), if desired.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD.
Demonstrated experience in one or more system engineering job function described above (Requirements Development & Management, Interface Development & Management, CONOPS, and Integration & Test)
Previous design or testing experience on a deliverable system.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse team.
An Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in a STEM related field.
Experience with design development for maritime domain and technologies (including: torpedo's, towed vehicles, UUVs, ROVs, SONAR/sensor systems, underwater mechanical structures and cabling, submarine payloads, etc.).
Experience with Navy operations such as anti-submarine warfare and/or seabed warfare.
An Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph within 5 years.
