Systems Engineer 2 or 3 - (Integration, Test, and Deployment Engineer)

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has a need for an experienced Systems Engineer 2 or 3 (Integration, Test, and Deployment Engineer) with a background in the areas of spacecraft command and control and mission management.

The program needs a motivated individual with experience in software troubleshooting, test tool development, determine baseline contents, collaborating with experts on test procedures, writing test procedures, performing test procedures, providing evidence of test for test report generation, and training end users. Responsibilities will include performing test of COTS and software baselines, performing installation and checkout, and assisting in baseline deliveries; develop detailed system test procedures; perform system level testing; generation of discrepancy reports; support to system design; support and training to customer personnel.

The position also requires an individual with the ability to work on technical challenges and to provide innovative solutions, to include troubleshooting the system, implementing new capabilities for future versions of the system

Responsibilities will include performing installation and checkout, system level testing, execution of stress, performance, external interface, analyzing user requirements and assisting in deliveries/deployments. Some support to develop detailed test procedures and support to factory acceptance tests may be required. Selected candidate will be responsible for developing technical content for test procedure generation.

Basic Qualifications:

BQs for a Systems Engineer 2 are:

  • Requires a BS within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited college and 2 years' test development experience.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience in
  • Supporting test efforts from factory to installation
  • Analyzing user requirements
  • Technical documentation creation/review
  • Guiding system development and implementation planning through assessment to system integration;
  • Integrating capabilities based on technically challenging customer requirements;
  • Verifying those capabilities within an aggressive program schedule
  • Demonstrated ability with Virtualization products/ Move to Preferred
  • Linux and Windows environments
  • Supporting customers/users for interface definitions, integration environment, etc.

BQs for a Systems Engineer 3 are:

  • Requires a BS within a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited college and 5 years' test development experience.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience in
  • Supporting test efforts from factory to installation
  • Analyzing user requirements
  • Technical documentation creation/review
  • Guiding system development and implementation planning through assessment to system integration;
  • Integrating capabilities based on technically challenging customer requirements;
  • Verifying those capabilities within an aggressive program schedule
  • Demonstrated ability with Virtualization products/ Move to Preferred
  • Linux and Windows environments
  • Supporting customers/users for interface definitions, integration environment, etc.

Preferred Qualifications for both a level 2 or 3:

  • Supporting Network engineering, network engineering and implementation of multiple networks used by the customer community
  • Knowledge of program mission, program domain and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with customer facilities and processes would be a bonus.
  • Coordinate across program disciplines and with users and suppliers.
  • Ability to decompose large, complex problems in components and envision their interactions
  • Technical presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to complete tasks with some direction and oversight
