Systems Engineer 17-751 Jr. Level Systems Engineer

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) was selected by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency to participate on the Missile Defense National Team. This team was chartered to develop a Ballistic Missile Defense System for the United States. Air & Missile Defense Systems (A&MDS) serves as Northrop Grumman Mission Systems' focal point for all activities associated with missile defense, including Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), simulation & modeling, systems engineering, and target discrimination.

  • Individual will perform analysis of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) components to support the systems engineering process developing performance requirements for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as a member of the System Concepts and Requirement (SC&R) product team within the "National Team" System Engineering organization.
  • Individual will perform BMDS requirements analyses utilizing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools based on MATLAB to support development of system engineering products for MDA.
  • The individual will support development of reports and briefings to be reviewed within the National Team for release to the MDA Customer.
  • Individual will support and participate in technical meetings with MDA counterparts. Individual will work in small teams comprised of 4-8 multi-discipline

Basic Qualifications:

  • 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
  • Individual will perform analysis of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) components to support the systems engineering process developing performance requirements for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) as a member of the System Concepts and Requirement (SC&R) product team within the "National Team" System Engineering organization.
  • Individual will perform BMDS requirements analyses utilizing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools based on MATLAB to support development of system engineering products for MDA.
  • The individual will support development of reports and briefings to be reviewed within the National Team for release to the MDA Customer.
  • Individual will support and participate in technical meetings with MDA counterparts. Individual will work in small teams comprised of 4-8 multi-discipline
  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in analyzing and predicting performance of any of the following: ballistic missiles, rockets, or interceptors using MATLAB or similar tools.
  • Systems engineering experience generating component or system-level specification requirements and interface documents.
  • Ability to prepare, organize, and present briefings/demonstrations to team members and team leadership.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the MDA capabilities and ability to describe a typical mission thread is a plus
