Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Systems Administrator 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Amherst Systems in Buffalo, New York; an organization focused on the development and production of state-of-the-art Simulation System solutions.
The Systems Administrator maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Applies security measures, and Operating System hardening to fielded computing systems. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Must be strong in Windows, and Linux/Unix administration.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 6 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree ina related field plus 4 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix administration
- Experience in Operating System hardening, computing system security lock down measures
- Experience with CISCO network switches
