Systems Administrator 2 or 3

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator level 2 or 3 for our Aurora, CO location.

Our location has a need for a self-motivated, hardworking Linux System Administrator capable of working on an agile, development program. Selected candidates will initially be responsible for: Hardware installs and configuration; virtual machine installs and configuration; COTs SW installs; Security Patching; Hardware Maintenance; and User Accounts. The ideal candidate will develop solutions to moderate problems, utilizing ingenuity and general direction or oversight. The candidate must understand how their tasks fit within the overall program goals and perform their work accordingly.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for a Linux Systems Administrator 2 are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical degree with 3 years' experience; or 7 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Experience loading, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux operating systems, including RedHat
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Oracle PCA, or Amazon Web Services
  • Experience installing a variety of applications on Linux/Unix platforms
  • Experience with LDAP

Basic Qualification for a Linux Systems Administrator 3 are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical degree with 6 years' experience; or 10 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance
  • Experience loading, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux operating systems, including RedHat
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Oracle PCA, or Amazon Web Services
  • Experience installing a variety of applications on Linux/Unix platforms
  • Experience with LDAP

Preferred Qualifications for level 2 or 3:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience performing system backups, maintaining archives, and data recovery
  • Experience working with Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage
  • Familiar with Windows Active Directory and user account management
  • Experience with Windows System Administration to include installing, configuring, hardening and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, including Windows Server 2008R2/2012 and Windows 7
  • Familiar with Enterprise automation technologies such as Kickstart, Puppet, Spacewalk, or Ansible
  • Scripting experience with bash, Python, or Windows Powershell
  • Database Administration experience
