Northrop Grumman in Dayton, OH is seeking a System Administrator 1. This is a challenging opportunity for an entry level System Administrator in a high performance team of professionals maintaining smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. This role interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Will participate in making recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinate installation and provide backup recovery. Will help to develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space.

Additionally this role provides ongoing administration of VMware, virtualized Linux and Windows servers, and manages an Active Directory network. May also provide desktop support and act as interface to operations support personnel. This job typically requires non- standard work hours, to include evenings and weekends, to apply patches or respond to system administration issues.
Successful candidates will demonstrated enthusiastic, self-starter attributes with the ability to learn new technologies quickly. The desire to grow within this position and the willingness to accomplish work during nonstandard business hours to accomplish mission requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant IT experience.
- Must be a US Citizen and possess a favorably adjudicated SSBI background investigation to support an IT-1 Level of Trust.
- The ability to earn DoD 8710 CASP certification within 6 months of starting.
- Previous experience in computer support or IT call center support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- VMware, Linux, Windows OS experience.
- Knowledge of Red hat JBOSS and A-MQ.
- Knowledge of DISA STIGS and security implementation.
- REMIS functional concepts.
- DoD 8710 CASP certification or equivalent
