The Global Hawk Test IPT is looking for a highly motivated individual to lead a diverse, high performing System Test Engineering team in the successful development and execution of System Level 3 test procedures. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented and have the ability to lead the team with focus on first time quality, engineering rigor, technical excellence, Continuous Integration, Fix-it-Now, and Test Like You Fly methodologies. Responsibilities include working closely with the GH and FMS Lab Managers, Test Operations Manager and Test Planning & Requirements Manager to successfully execute test activities and lab integration activities. Have the ability to communicate up and out and well as down and in.
Section Manager responsibilities include working closely with the STE Department Manager and fellow section managers to implement department and CoE initiatives including Enterprise Agile and Continuous Integration, ensuring successful planning and execution of program test engineering activities, collaborating with programs to satisfy staffing needs and provide operations support (incident investigations, metrics collection and analysis, etc.), setting Talent + goals and providing regular performance feedback to employees, supporting the annual salary review and promotion process, mentoring, training, providing necessary resources and developing the next generation of technical and project leadership, and improving and enforcing test engineering processes and procedures.
Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the successful development and execution of System Level 3 test procedures to verify system requirements.
  • Track metrics of procedure development and execution.
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to learn challenging concepts quickly in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Work independently to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects at once.
  • Drives Enterprise agile and continuous integration through continued increases in test automation, especially NI-based, RVT-driven bench automation
  • Drives and champions the adoption of "Test-Like-You-Fly test operations, risk assessments, self-reporting configuration, virtual test environments, fix-it-now, and other affordability initiatives.
  • Actively seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
  • The ability to support weekends, multiple shifts, and off hours.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels. As a senior member of the team, the candidate will also be expected to lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and teach best practices in procedure development & verification.
