System Integration & Test Engineer 4

The Northrop Grumman - Xetron facility, located in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a senior Systems Integration & Test (SI&T) engineer to support test and verification activities programs within the ISR hardware organization.

The qualified SI&T engineer will perform hands-on integration and testing of sophisticated RF sensor systems, including both hardware and software components in development and production environments; Synthesizes internal and external customer needs and requirements into system tests that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints; Participates in the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for verifying system requirements; participates in I&T readiness reviews, design reviews and conducts audits of I&T program facilities; Coordinates integrated testing activities that may include environmental, reliability and testing at other locations; Reviews and evaluates test requirements to ensure completeness of test program; Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive reports; Uses modeling and simulation tools to expedite testing of individual units before all system components are available and for troubleshooting and repair of failed units.

Candidate will be working directly with the system engineering team to insure that the equipment meets all requirements. Candidate will go with the customer to the installation site and insure the equipment is installed properly, handle any issues that arise onsite and verify it is operational. Candidate may be required to lead a team of individuals from various organizations during the installation of equipment.

Military/Intel experience is a plus.

Qualified candidates must have an understanding of:

  • Testing/troubleshooting of RF systems
    -technical ability in a lab based integration and test environment
    -a working knowledge of RF based test equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 7 or more years of related experience OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of related experience OR a PhD in and 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting/ testing RF systems
  • Technical ability in a lab based integration and test environment
  • Familiarity with RF based test equipment (signal generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret securityclearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Programming skills in C#, C++ or other common programming language
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW software
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher (US citizenship required)
