This position is for a Senior Principal Operator to support the Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) Organization on the SWDC program at Schriever AFB, CO. The Senior Principal Operator will oversee Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) and BMDS OPIR Architecture (BOA) Operations during MDA Flight Tests and Integrated/Distributed Ground Tests.

Primary duties include: Execution of SBIRS Operator Procedures, execution of BOA Operator Procedures, coordination/communication with the Test Execution Center (TEC) during Test Runs, manipulation and execution of system support scripts, and data collection and distribution to analysts and appropriate data repositories.

As the Sr. Principal Operator, additional duties include: leading a team of operators in the execution of Ground Test or Flight Test events, updating and maintaining Operator Procedures, troubleshooting issues encountered during executions, and developing innovative improvements to Ground Test and Flight Test Operations.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's of science degree and at least 9 years of experience.
  • Working knowledge of SBIRS Mission performance/execution.
  • Working knowledge of BOA Mission performance/execution.
  • Working knowledge of LINUX commands.
  • Ability to maintain and follow documented processes and procedures.
  • Strong communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • DoD Final Secret clearance.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating SBIRS Mission in a Ground Test environment.
  • Experience operating BOA Mission in a Ground Test environment.
  • Experience in modifying and executing scripts.
  • Detailed working knowledge of SIMF (RTEMS Driver) performance/execution.
  • Detailed working knowledge of OLGASIM performance/execution.
  • Detailed working knowledge of FOXSIM performance/execution.
  • Detailed working knowledge of RT-RDSIM performance/execution.
  • Experience leading focused teams of operators.
