The Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) Sector Supply Chain Procurement function is committed to ensure satisfaction to all our internal and external customers. The Huntsville Global Supply Chain is composed of about 70 professionals, including subcontracts, procurement, planners, and operations professionals. In support of program requirements, the Operations organization is responsible for issuing a wide variety of Fixed Price Purchase Orders, Blanket Purchase Agreements, Technical Services Agreements, and Labor Hour Purchase Orders.

This position will be part of a team supporting the direct and indirect purchases of both materials and services and will report directly to the Huntsville Global Support Chain Commodity Manager.

Critical skills needed to be successful are:

Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliers. Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals and receives same, analyzing proposed pricing from potential suppliers. In conjunction with the Mission Assurance organization, evaluates and monitors supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules. Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the products or services required and is a member of one or more commodity communities of practice where they will engage in a process of collective learning working with other procurement professionals working on identifying opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations and by deploying new strategies. Issues and manages performance of purchase orders, ensures compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations. Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance through monitoring supplier activities. Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded and reviews and approves supplier payment as needed. Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications:
BS/BA degree with6 years of progressive domestic and/or international procurement experience or a Master's degree with 4+ year progressive domestic and/or international procurement experience.
In-depth understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and regulations (FAR/DFARS).

DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous purchasing experience utilizing SAP.
Performing in a Government contracting environment with familiarity with the FAR, DFAR, and Supplements.
Ability to utilize Excel and its advanced applications
