Northrop Grumman Technology Services is seeking a Supply Chain Procurement Specialist 4to join its team of qualified, diverse professionals engaged in supporting dynamic, complex, and challenging programs.

This position is in support of the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Program (GBSD) and internal research & development efforts.

In this role, youwill source and procure goods and services of a commodity nature from many suppliers. Initiate Requests for Quotations and Proposals and analyze proposed pricing from potential suppliers.

In conjunction with the quality organization, evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules.

Job Duties:

  • Works with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations.
  • Issues purchase orders.
  • Manages performance of purchase orders, ensuring compliance with all public law requirements as well as company (and business) policies and procedures including import/export regulations.
  • Employ sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.
  • Ensures that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded.
  • Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed.
  • Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Negotiates and coordinates additions, deletions, or modifications to purchase orders.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related fieldand minimum of 10 years -OR- a Master's degree in a business-related fieldand a minimum of8 years of experience in procurement, contracts, subcontracts, or supply chain. 4 additional years related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Abilityto effectively work independently with very general supervision
  • Demonstratedorganization andeffective time management skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (i.e. provide detailed status to management)and collaborate with the management of other organizations (program management, contracts, business management, etc. as well as with the suppliers on the program
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative in finding sources/suppliers
  • Proficient with theMicrosoft Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with FAR/DFARS
  • SAP experience
  • Experience writing price analyses based on single source procurements
