Supplier Quality Engineer (3/4) - Electrical/RF- Baltimore, MD

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer 3/4 with a focus in RF/ Electrical to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in Baltimore, Maryland. Travel 50% of time.

The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Mission Assurance organization as part of the Supplier Quality East Coast Field Operations team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in a team environment, negotiate and integrate different viewpoints, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project results.
  • Represent the company with credibility, confidence and professionalism.
  • Plan and implement Quality Assurance actions for assigned RF/TR module suppliers which require compliance to Military and Space requirements.
  • Perform Specification Compliance Reviews, First Article Inspections and Source inspections on electrical and electro-mechanical hardware including, RF/Microwave devices and assemblies and cables and connectors.
  • Understands continuous process improvement (CI) and can effectively develop and execute CI initiatives and activities.
  • Initiate Corrective Action Plans and work with suppliers, manufacturing and engineering personnel to identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.
  • Compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for understanding and addressing supplier process issues and developing solutions.
  • Perform process and product audits along with capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes are robust and capable. Effectively perform supplier surveillance activities designed to manage and improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation.
  • Apply technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to analyze and audit our suppliers processes and capabilities.
  • Work with the Key Supplier and Technology Teams to manage key suppliers, ensure the suppliers are performing well and drive process improvements while ensuring their capacity and capability to deliver products on time is acceptable.
  • Understands general contracting principles in a Department of Defense and commercial environment. Possesses the ability and skill to review and interpret regulatory requirements, specifically in the area of Mission Assurance and quality.
  • Establish positive working relationships with suppliers.
  • Develop and mentor new engineers.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

MAQEA

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.

5 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Design Engineering and/or 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement.

Demonstrated work experience with inspecting RF/Electrical systems.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.

Basic Qualifications for Level 4:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical discipline.

9 years relevant experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Design Engineering, and/or 5 years experience in Continuous Improvement.

Demonstrated work experience with inspecting RF/Electrical systems.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications for Level 3 or 4:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering

Six Sigma or Lean certifications

Knowledge of statistical process control, auditing to ISO 9001 and AS9100 requirements

Experience in IPC-610/J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883 and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.

Hold Active Secret Clearance
