Supplier Quality Engineer 3

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Baltimore, MD.

As part of MA, you will be a member of the team responsible to support the Navigation and Maritime System Division and Land & Avionics C4ISR Division Supplier Quality group for products and services procured by the Mission Systems Sector.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Promote culture of quality
  • Establish interfaces and regular communication rhythm with supporting organizations
  • Focus on engagement & inclusion across all functions
  • Work with program office to ensure clear Supplier Quality scope of work definition and cost control accountability
  • Guide/Support supplier selection
  • Partner with Engineering, Global Supply Chain, and the Program office to drive strategic supplier selection early in program lifecycle
  • Drive supplier quality risk assessments to ensure effective sourcing strategies with capable suppliers
  • Drive Supplier Risk Management
  • Develop supplier risk management approach to fit program risk profile
  • Drive supplier performance on through support of the Supplier Quality Metrics
  • Monitor implementation and effectiveness of supplier quality risk mitigation plans/activities
  • Monitor, report, and respond to supplier quality performance
  • Develop and implement supplier quality reviews for assigned programs
  • Drive supplier defect escape reductions through structured root cause and corrective action process
  • Support the development of the Supplier Quality Management Model for critical and poor performing suppliers
  • Lead supplier quality issue resolution activities
  • Manage supplier compliance activities
  • Actively review supplier audit plan and execution, and provide inputs as required to ensure adequate coverage
  • Ensure Non-conformance Alerts and other regulatory concerns are being addressed in timely fashion
  • Support key Supplier Quality processes tools for the program


MAQEA
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM/related technical field and 5+ years of experience working as a Quality Engineer, OR a Master's Degree in STEM/related technical field with 3+ years of experience working as a Quality Engineer, OR a PhD in STEM/related technical field discipline and 0+ years of experience working as a Quality Engineer.
  • Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics.
  • This position will require occasional in state and out of state travel.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering discipline
  • Optical/RF/Electrical background
  • SAP Business System experience
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification
  • Experience with capacity analysis tools
  • Experience with measurement analysis methods.
  • Experience in drawing interpretation to ANSI Y14.5.
  • Experience working in the aerospace environment
  • Possess current DoD Secret Clearance
