Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer 2/3- Sacramento, CA

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer 2/3 to join the Supplier Quality team located at our McClellan location in Sacramento, CA.

This position will report directly to the Division Supplier Quality Homeroom in Baltimore, MD with dotted line support to the McClellan site Supplier Quality Lead and Mission Assurance Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Supplier Quality lead to assist in development of program assessments to determine supplier quality risk, as well as effective and affordable risk mitigation approaches, supplier pre-award capability assessments, source selection evaluations, supplier quality audits and supplier performance assessments to support supplier management at the McClellan campus.
  • Ensuring flow-down of contract requirements to qualified/approved suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality Field Operations teams to ensure NGMS and program risk mitigation strategies are executed in conjunction with key program schedule milestones.
  • Plan and implement Quality Assurance actions for all suppliers supporting the McClellan campus as well as developing, collecting, analyzing and presenting supplier metrics to support the Supplier Quality Lead and Mission Assurance Manager at the McClellan campus.
  • Support Production Readiness Reviews and evaluation of supplier capacity.
  • Creation and documentation of First Article plans for new, applicable DMS re-designs and ECP's.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and program organizations to identify and understand supplier quality issues identified in receiving inspection and on the factory floor ensuring quality notifications are properly dispositioned and closed.
  • Support the SCAR process and work with programs, suppliers and the Supplier Quality Field Operations team to drive effective Root Cause & Corrective Action investigations.
  • Support Supplier Quality Lead in development of the Supplier Audit Plan in conjunction with Sector Compliance Management for Material Authenticity, and other corporate compliance requirements.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field..

Minimum 2 years of related work experience.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.

Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing per ANSI Y14..

Knowledge of Root Cause & Corrective Action processes,

Communication, team building and problem solving skills.

Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field..

Minimum 5 years of related work experience.

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.

Working knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5.

Working knowledge of Root Cause & Corrective Action processes.

Good communication, team building and problem solving skills.

Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications for Level 2 or 3:

Aerospace environment preferred.

RF/Electrical background

SAP Business System experience

AS9100 Lead Auditor trained

Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification

Experience with capacity analysis tools helpful

Possess Current DoD Secret Clearance.
