Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems is currently seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer 2/3 to join our team in Rocket Center, WV just outside of Cumberland, MD. The Allegany Ballistics Laboratory (ABL) site in Rocket Center designs, develops and manufactures tactical rocket motors, medium caliber ammunition, composite components and end items, and fuze and electronics equipment. For decades, the dedicated and highly skilled team at ABL have supported national security efforts by developing and building defense systems for DoD customers and U.S. allies.
Monitors Supplier processes and performance to ensure mission success.
Evaluates and assures supplier, quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, in accordance with contractual requirements.
Assesses supplier performance and risks, and determines methodology to ensure mission assurance.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications Level 2:BS in Engineering or related STEM degree such as Physics, Math or Materials ScienceTwo (2) or more years of related work experience
Basic Qualifications Level 3:
BS in Engineering or related STEM degree such as Physics, Math or Materials ScienceFive (5) or more years of related work experience
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Basic knowledge and understanding of Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis
Able to travel a significant percentage of time, (40-50%)
Able to work in both external and internal environmental conditions
Excellent collaboration skills in team environment
Ability to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints
Able to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result
Able to provide direction to determine priorities to achieve goals
Ability to make decisions that positively impact the organization's credibility, operations and services
Able to prepare and analyze data and figures
Ability to identify sequence of operations or action to be taken
Candidates should have demonstrated competencies in the following: Customer Focus, Resiliency, Drives Results and Drives Engagement
Prefer candidates with an Engineering degree Previous experience as a Quality Engineer
Previous experience having responsibility and oversight of multiple products and/or processes
Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards
Experience working with suppliers in an aerospace or automotive environment

This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.
