Subcontracts Technical Liaison 3/4 (Frequent Travel)

The Subcontracts Technical Liaison is responsible for managing the manufacturing operations of contract suppliers including relationship management, technical issues, vendor selection and evaluation, schedule conflicts, and quality issues. Evaluates and resolves engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, quality, and material engineering. Analyzes engineering specifications and drawings; confers with quality, materials engineering, manufacturing, and subcontractor to provide and obtain technical information; investigates reports of defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment or systems; and reviews production schedules and orders. Evaluates findings to formulate and drive execution of corrective action plans. Acts as a liaison betweencompany facilities and contractors. Ensures the product is available to meet the program and customer needs. Excellent interpersonal communication and interface skills at all levels internally and externally is critical to success in this role. Clear and concise written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail are a must. Strong business acumen required. SAP experience preferred.

Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work products are reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Impact:

Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in severe program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

Liaison:

Frequent inter-organizational and outside supplier contacts. Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel and leadership on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations. May develop and deliver presentations.

Requires Frequent Travel

Qualifications
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications for a Subcontracts Technical Liaison 3 are:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field
5 or more years of Technical experience including 3 or more years working in a project management role whose schedule is flexible to accommodate program objectives
Clear and concise written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail are a must
Strong business acumen required
Excellent interpersonal communication and interface skills at all levels internally and externally is critical to success in this role
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Must be able to be willing to travel up to 50% of the job

Basic Qualifications for a Subcontracts Technical Liaison 4 are:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field
9 or more years of Technical experience including 3 or more years working in a project management role whose schedule is flexible to accommodate program objectives
Clear and concise written communication skills and a high level of attention to detail are a must
Strong business acumen required
Excellent interpersonal communication and interface skills at all levels internally and externally is critical to success in this role
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance
Must be able to travel up to 50% of the job

Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Engineering or a related field preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
SAP experience preferred
Secret Clearance
