Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking an Structural Test Mechanical Technician 3 to work in El Segundo, California.
The Mechanical Technician for the Research & Development Test Organization performs a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development of mechanical and electromechanical engineering designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components. May involve multiple shift operations.
Typical Duties Include:
Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.
Layout, fabrication, and assembly of large scale structures.
Operating structural and systems test related equipment
Makes modifications and adjustments as instructed
Works from complex blueprints, sketches, verbal instructions and other engineering information.
- High School Diploma OR General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 4 years' experience as a mechanical technician.
- Machining or Hydraulics experience required
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level
- A&P license
- Be comfortable and capable of working at heights of up to 25ft.
- Aircraft repair experience
- Structural test experience
- Knowledge of standard rigging procedures
- Current active Security Clearance
