Under direction of a senior member of the Mechanical Analysis team the candidate will perform design analysis and test of one or more of thespacecraft systems of subsystems.Generally work supporting preliminary or advanced concepts developed by senior staff and product leads.The ideal candidate will perform static and dynamic structure analyses, review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.Select appropriate technical information and data from applicable products, determine the technical principles involved, identify the design path forward and compute the engineering characteristics consistent with the specifications, design needs and requirements of the space application.Release results as technical documents after review by the senior members of the team. Develop innovative solutions and elaborate on design concepts.Evaluate completed design with supervisor and other technical groups and make modifications necessary to achieve the most ideal design. Develop and coordinate the conduct of test programs required to evaluate design work.
- A Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or higher education in Engineering, Math, Physics or Computer Science and four years experience.
- Ability to perform structural engineering tasks associated with analysis, design, and testing of structures. Experience with Mechanical Analysis tools such as NX FEMAP/NASTRAN, ABAQUS, HYPERMESH or equivalent spacecraft structure analysis tools.
