Staff Software Embedded Engineer

What You'll get to Do:
Design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
Ensure software standards are met.
Communicate openly and effectively with teammates and customer representatives

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Staff Software Engineers requires 14 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors in Science with a STEM major (preferred); 12 years with a Masters and 9 years with a PHD.
Experience developing software in object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, C#, or Ada.
Interim Secret (or above) Security Clearance.
Experience with Micro Services Architecture
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project results.
Experience analyzing complex problems and developing solutions.
Experience with hardware interfaces, such as MIL-STD-1553 Bus protocol, GPBI, Digital I/O, Analog to Digital I/O, Ethernet, CompactRIO

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with the Missile Defense and Sense & Warn based systems.
Experience with international sensors and fire control systems.
Development utilizing a Linux based development environment.
Knowledge of various scripting languages and tools: Python, MATLAB, etc.
Experience working on CMMI Level 3+ programs
Familiarity with Agile software development practices
Experienced with DevSecOps
Proven communications skills with armed services & government customer.
A+ and/or Sec+ Certification
Weapons system development experience
GUI building tools, such as Builder Xcessory or JavaFX
Shell scripting

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
