Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) is currently seeking a Engineer Systems Test 5 to join our team of qualified and diverse engineers in Azusa, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of tasks that are integral to success of our space programs! The successful candidate will have experience in optics, optical testing, radiometry & interferometry. Candidate will be proficient in developing, validating, operating, and supporting test systems and electro/optical/mechanical test equipment such as optical stages, optical sources, heater panels, liquid nitrogen panels and high vacuum equipment. Candidate will be instrumental in defining strategic roadmap for maximizing use and maintenance ofin-house optics bench and equipment. Candidate will use optics expertise to develop system test solutions.
The candidate must demonstrate strong work ethics, attention to detail, and desire to learn and expand skill sets. Candidate must be willing to mentor junior engineers. Self-motivated with ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in a STEM Field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)
* 14 + years of experience in designing, developing and implementing test systems
* Experience in optics, optical testing, radiometry or interferometry
* Experience developing test plans, schedules, and other project documentation
* Current DoD Secret clearance or higher must be held and maintained.U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
* Experience with cryogenics
* Experience with LabVIEW
