Staff Cyber Protection Mission Engineer
- Annapolis Junction, MD
"Mission Engineer" to serve as subject matter expert in the areas of military operations, cybersecurity, and information systems engineering. Work with inter-disciplinary team and customers to create and extend cyber system CONOPS. Translate customer/stakeholder (i.e., mission users) needs into software requirements. Collaborate with customers and external systems to design interface specifications and integration architecture. Work with the software development team to document, implement, and test interfaces. Participate in trade shows and symposiums, technical demonstrations, and formal briefings.
Basic Qualifications: TS/SCI Clearance • Minimum 6 years of experience with military operations and knowledge military staff processes such as the Military Decision Making Process, Targeting Cycle, Intelligence collection, etc• Solid understanding of cyber security concepts and operations, including cyber intelligence, cyber offensive operations, and cyber defensive operations, SIEM tools, and common applications used in the industry.• Solid understanding of the SDLC, systems analysis and design, requirements gathering techniques, and common technologies used in the industry.• Familiarization with knowledge graph modeling, databases, and data retrieval methodologies• Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences and executive-level corporate, military, and government personnel.• Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to manage a demanding and complex workload Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with Agile software development methodologies• Familiarity with big data processing and technologies, Elesticsearch, Spark, Storm, map reduce, Zookeeper, yarn, HDFS, Flume, NiFi, Kafka, logstash, Kibana, Hbase• Familiarity with database technologies: relational, NoSQL, Graph• Understanding of philosophical/epistemological concepts of ontologies and taxonomies• Familiarity discrete math (formal logic, set theory, graph theory, combinatorics, etc)• Experience with full-stack web development using: JS/HTML/CSS, Java, SQL, ESPER, SPARQL/Gremlin/Cypher/GraphQL• Understanding of common cybersecurity standards and taxonomies: OpenIOC, CAPEC, MAEC, CVE, ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, CCE, CPE, STIX/TAXII• Understanding of common cybersecurity systems/tools: MacAfee EMS, ArcSight, Splunk, Metasploit, Kali Linux, Security Onion, Snort, Wireshark, Nmap, Yara• CISSP Certification Full Scope Polygraph Clearance Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
