Sr Staff Software Quality Engineer

• Experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• The position will afford the opportunity to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Effective communication skills are a must. In addition, the candidate will provide expert technical advice and guidance to team members.
• Ensure the development and implementation of robust Software Quality plans, documents, checklists and training materials.
• The candidate must have prior experience managing budget and schedule (EVMS).
• Provide senior technical oversight for problem resolution activities, root cause analysis and preventive/corrective action implementation.
• Support development of software metrics.
• Support status reporting/meetings/presentations
• Support Peer Reviews of artifacts for engineering release.
Telecommute/remote is not an option for this position. This position's standard work schedule is 9/80, allowing employees every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science (BS) with 16 years of related experience; or a Masters degree with 14 years of related experience; or a PhD with 11 years of related experience. STEM degree required.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• Recent experience supporting a Defense program as a Software Product Owner, Software Project Manager, or Software Quality Manager.
• Familiar with the mission of a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) organization.
• Experience leading the SQA effort for multiple programs.
• Experience developing processes, plans, and procedures.
• Experience developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
• Experience with proposal development for SQA.
• Experience with Software Supplier oversight and auditing.
• Experience preparing program status charts and presentations.
• Experience developing software metrics.
• Experience with management of Budget/Schedule (EVMS).
• Full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and the processes, plans, standards, industry practices and tools required of a mission-critical program.
• Experience working within an Agile environment (fast-paced/incremental development/delivery) with focus on first time quality.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, DOORS, Gitlab, and static analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) or Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE).
• Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience and Work Package Manager (WPM) or Control Account Manager (CAM) experience.
• Excellent presentation/communication skills.
• Experience with and/or familiarity with DevStar and the software pipeline (DevOps).
• DO-178C and/or DO-254 experience.
• CMMI experience.
• AS9100 experience.
Primary Level Salary Range: $151,400.00 - $227,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
