Sr Principal Total Rewards Communications Representative

Northrop Grumman realizes its greatest assets are its employees and is seeking a Total Rewards Communications Representative to develop communications campaigns that will educate and engage our 80,000 employees. This new role is uniquely positioned to directly impact employees and their families by highlighting total compensation and rewards programs, employee wellbeing and the offerings available from Northrop Grumman. The role will be located at our corporate headquarters in Falls Church, VA, and will be part of our team of highly collaborative and engaged people.

About you:
You know how to plan, research, write, edit and coordinate engaging and high-quality messages, and you have fresh ideas to reach employees using new tools and approaches. You have the ability to clearly present technical benefits and compensation information. You must be able to perform a wide array of project tasks independently, drive projects to completion, manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and handle variable workloads.

You will support the Compensation and Benefits organization in the development and delivery of employee benefit messages and campaigns and will champion the Total Rewards concept. You must have excellent writing and editing skills, as well as strong organization, project-management skills and attention to detail and quality. You must be collaborative, creative, have the ability to juggle multiple priorities/projects and complete assignments in a fast-moving environment, when necessary. Ability to work independently, self-directed and as part of a team is required with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop total rewards communications plan that focuses on compensation, benefits, work/life balance and other total reward pillars. The plan will be designed to ensure that employees understand their total compensation and integrates themes with the compensation planning calendar.
Develop monthly newsletter editorial calendar and conduct monthly editorial board meetings; integrate monthly themes from other organizations; manage an external design firm to oversee the design and timely distribution of the newsletter.
Draft and edit various compensation and benefits communications, including sector news announcements, e-signage and HR communications.
Participate in teams for various projects and initiatives.
Assist with the development, editing and finalization of communications for major projects (Annual Enrollment, Retiree Annual Enrollment, Benefits & You communications, Year-end Bulletin).
Ensure solutions are consistent with organization objections.
Other duties as assigned by the Manager, Compensation and Benefits Communications.

This position reports directly to the Director, Health & Insurance, in the Compensation and Benefits organization, and works very closely with the Corporate Communications organization.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience in communications, journalism or related field; 8 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Familiar with employee benefits communications (Health & Welfare, 401(k) and Pension) and incentive and recognition programs
Ability to work independently and to collaborate with communications across the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiar with Associated Press Stylebook rules
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical, oral/written communication and critical thinking skills along with the ability to function in high pressure and short-turnaround situations.
Creativity, attention to detail, resourcefulness and demonstrates initiative
