Sr. Principal Tax Accountant

The Senior Principal Tax Associate is part of the Tax Reporting team located at Northrop Grumman's corporate office in Falls Church, Virginia. The Senior Principal Tax Associate will be part of the Tax Reporting function.

The Senior Principal Tax Associate will be responsible for applying tax knowledge and experience to prepare and review work papers and tax returns, including obtaining and analyzing source data, understanding tax issues, recognizing, and communicating potential risks and communicating effectively with stakeholders. The Senior Principal Tax Associate will additionally be responsible for leading projects, reviewing work, contributing new concepts, techniques, and standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:
• Review and analysis of complex book to tax adjustments
• Contributions to process improvement, workflow alignment, and streamlining
• Tax analysis leveraging SAP, Corptax, One Source, and other software
• Cumulative deferred tax analysis and review
• Effective communication within department and company
• Projections and provision support
• Tax research and documentation
• State income tax compliance

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field
• Progressively responsible tax experience with federal, state, or international tax compliance
• At least 10 years of experience with Bachelors or at least 8 years with experience with Masters in related field
• Expertise with Microsoft Excel
• Experience in working on multi-entity tax returns

Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Tax or Law Degree
• Big 4 Public Accounting Firm experience
• CPA License
• Experience with Corptax, Adobe Acrobat, SAP, and tax research software Team focused approach to work
• Ability to multitask, manage projects, and perform tax research
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Word, Access, and PowerPoint
