Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer-Team Lead out of Aurora, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

This position is for a senior software team lead with experience leading C++ and/or Java and/or Python application development teams. The position will include software design responsibilities as well as providing software best practice leadership and mentoring of the development team.

Responsibilities include: Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and system that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Establish daily/weekly priorities of the development team, Provide oversight of Cost, Schedule and Technical performance for the Development Control Account Manager, main point of contact for their team in program and/or customer meetings, manage risks and opportunities for their development team, establish baseline plans and update forecasts within their software team, Conducts communication with other software engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of signal data processing and ensures software standards and requirements are met.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other related technical or engineering degree and 9+ years of software engineering experience; 7+ years with a Masters; 4+ years with a PhD
  • Full software development life cycle experience

  • Enterprise Python and/or C++/Java programming lead experience

  • Software dvelopment experience in Linux environments
  • active Top Secret clearance with SCI
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to guide and mentor junior development team members through code and design reviews
  • Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns and software engineering best practices
  • Experience designing and documenting software architecture
  • Experience decomposing customer functional needs into software development tasks, ie. backlog refinement
  • Agile development methodology, specifically Scrum, using Jira
