Sr. Principal Engineer Structural

The Antenna Products Department is looking for a mechanical engineer with background in stress analysis to join our department. Typical assignment responsibilities will include:

- Familiarity with space production hardware and design
- Structural analysis for evaluation ofmaterial strength margins
- Analysis development based on structural design criteria, loading conditions and structural engineering processes (e.g. non-destructive testing, composite assemblies, etc.)
- Collaboration with ME design engineering who will be using CREO/Pro Engineering, Catia 5, NX or other 3-D cad system
-Review and disposition ofdiscrepant hardware
- Reviewing and approval of production drawings
- Development of environmental testing requirements and execution of mechanical testing such as: Structural static test, thermal cycle test, random & vibration tests to demonstrate qualification / acceptance of spacecraft structures

Basic Qualifications:

-Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineer or other STEM related type degree from an accredited institutionand 9 year of experience; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD.
- Proficiency of spacecraft structure analysis including primary/secondary structures made of metallic, advance composites, and/or Honeycomb materials and construction
- Familiarity with CREO/Pro Engineering, Catia 5, NX or other 3-D CAD software package
- Experience of discrepant hardware processes
- Experience with creating and releasing production drawings
- Active SSBI Clearance within 5 year scope or active secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil Engineer or other STEM related type degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing space hardware and mechanisms
- Experience of Antenna systems and Architecture
- Experience with RF components and assemblies
- Experience with electronics integration, packaging, and cable & harness design
- Ability to perform trade studies
- Experience with creating and developing preliminary layouts
- Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with Mathlab or Mathcad
- Experience with environmental testing requirements and experience with mechanical testing
