Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented Alignment Engineer located in Redondo Beach with responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:
The ideal candidate will be required to apply alignment engineering principles to contribute to the timely planning and execution of alignment measurements on the Program, including writing procedures & plans, operating alignment equipment, analyzing data, and creating data reports in a timely manner to support the program schedule. In addition, they will be required to have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, plans, and requirements documents.
This individual will author detailed alignment procedures, alignment implementation plans, as well as interact across engineering disciplines to clarify requirements and understand limitations, constraints, and potential conflicts. He or She must interact across organizations to coordinate readiness for task execution including facilities, personnel, non-flight hardware/ equipment, flight hardware, configuration, and other required discipline support. The Alignment Mechanical Engineer will support problem resolution, paperwork closeout, and requirements.
- Bachelors of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 9 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment OR Masters of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) field from an accredited institution and 7 years of engineering experience in an aerospace environment.
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the Top Secret level, OR must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
- Previous experience in alignment measurement engineering, including knowledge of the operation of alignment equipment (Laser radar, laser trackers, photogrammetry cameras, theodolites, laser scanners, and similar equipment)
- Experience with CAPE, Spatial Analyzer, Vstars, PolyWorks, SCENE, and Microsoft Excel (including macros)
