Northrop Grumman is looking for an individual who will be responsible for setting up and then leading the Configuration / Data Management effort for a development program.

Responsibilities for the position Include:

  • Serve as the focal point for control, storage, retrieval, and delivery of all Configuration/Data Management (CDM) data
  • Perform Configuration Planning activity including:
    • Set up the CDM (document, software and hardware) processes and controls specifically for this program
    • Document the CDM practices in conformance with NG and Industry processes
    • Review contract requirements to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes.
  • Execute Configuration Change Management, including:
    • Control engineering and document releases, including plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation (such as engineering drawings, production specifications, programmatic documents and others), to ensure requirements are met
    • Control change requests for configuration items. Administer change configuration review boards.
      • Track and close changes and action items
    • Establish change orders and prepare for change authorization and documentation by internal organizations and subcontractors.
    • Perform Change Tracking and Status Accounting
    • Establish change orders and prepare for change authorization and documentation by internal organizations and subcontractors.
    • Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities
  • Execute Data Management tasking, including:
    • Process and track program contract and supplier deliverables
    • Maintain the CM Library and baselines
    • Coordinate modification records for management control.
  • Interact frequently with data originators, program managers, and customer representatives concerning project deliverables and deliverable data scheduling requirements
  • Plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation, such as engineering documentation and drawings, subcontractor specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met.

  • Prioritize requests and communicate schedule to all stakeholders including customers
  • Collaborate with other team leads
  • Perform baseline (allocated, functional and product) management, hardware release and replication management, configuration item identification, software build releases, and configuration audits
  • Control configuration items, product traceability matrices, documents, and software media, CM records, and software libraries

  • Manage/coordinate program strategic council, support PIT tasking related to Data Management and track work status/metrics in support of team activities.


A successful Configuration Analyst includes the following tasks:

Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree with 10 years of Configuration Management experience or 8 years experience with a Masters Degree
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain Special Program Access
  • Proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint programs



Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to effectively work with all levels of the organization
  • Experience leading a CM team for program with multiple task orders/CLINs
  • Experience with Software Configuration Management within AGILE software development process
  • Experience with Government Contracting, especially with respect to the Engineering Change Proposal process
  • Expert knowledge of NGAS Command Media, and CDM Industry Standards, including ASME Y14, MIL-HDBK-61, SAE GEIA-859 and SAE EIA-649.
  • Knowledge of software / hardware configuration, data and change management principles and proficiency in the use of configuration management tools
  • Ability to obtain special program access
  • Experience with software Configuration Management tools and software management to include baseline management and auditing
