Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Survivable Endurable Evolution (S2E2) Parabolic Dish Subsystem (PDSS) team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Hardware Engineer based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll get to Do:

The definitive technical authority for all aspects of engineering on all program elements (hardware/software/support/test) and leads a multi-disciplined engineering team managing the technical performance of the program meeting cost and schedule requirements including subcontracted elements. Coordinates requirements development, hardware/software design, verification, and validation activities. Ensures that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, production, test and sustainment of products for our customers and is compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards. Maintains cognizance over technical activities within program IPTs and ensures horizontal integration of the best engineering practices across the company. Continually coordinates with IPT and engineering discipline leads to ensure the execution of program statement of work and baselines and serves as the technical point of contact with the customer.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical
    • Broad-based technical background spanning the many domains (e.g. RF, controls, HEMP, SW, reliability, etc.)
    • Ability to dialogue with SMEs at an appropriate technical level to guide their efforts
  • Leadership
    • Ability to drive to defined outcomes with subcontractor technical team
    • Achieving goals through setting clear expectations and effective communication
  • Coordination
    • Effectively coordinate the efforts of technical staff
    • Ability to recognize task order of importance and prioritize team members
  • Communication
    • Run cross-company coordination meetings with tracking and closure of tasking and action items
    • Keep meetings focused on stated goals
    • Ability to brief technical status and issues effectively to a broad audience
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • Education: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
  • Up to 50% CONUS travel

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with hardware production
  • Experience with ground station design, warning systems, and/or military weapon systems
  • Experience with military data links, RF communications, satellite tracking systems, and/or satellite communications (SATCOM)
  • Experience documenting configuration of equipment, including troubleshooting approach/methodology
