What You'll get to Do:
This person will supervise 10-15 employees in different areas throughout Hardware programs in the Colorado Springs, CO area. This management position will be performed in conjunction with a primary role on a contract within the Colorado Springs area or serving as part of an Independent Research and Development (IRAD) project. The successful candidate will already have one of these roles or have been selected for such a role.

The successful candidate will always work and lead with safety in mind. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. The candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Demonstrated abilities to build diverse and inclusive teams with high levels of engagement, including mentoring and coaching, are a must. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading Hardware Engineering teams.

Responsibilities Include:
- Technical contributor or manager as part of a contract or an IRAD project
- Functional oversight for a team of Hardware engineers of varied disciplines including goal setting, feedback and performance management
- Staffing and workload forecasting
- Employee inclusion and engagement
- Employee mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute on programs.
- Employee recruiting, sourcing, and onboarding

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 9 years of experience in a technical leadership role
• Bachelors degree in a relevant STEM discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Demonstrate strong people, organizational, presentation and communication skills,

written and verbal

• Must be experienced in broad aspects of the engineering development lifecycle

• U.S. Citizenship

• Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science in a relevant STEM discipline

• Prior experience as a functional manager / supervisor of technical employees

• Prior engineering experience in support of Overhead Persistent Infrared systems or other Ballistic Missile Defense or Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance system
• Familiarity with radar systems and concepts

• Current Secret Clearance

Salary range for a Manager Hardware Engineering 2: $127,760-$191,640
