Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aSpace PropulsionMechanical Engineer - 4to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, CA.
Ideal candidate will work with team members and other subsystem leads to help ensure program and subsystem requirements are addressed at the appropriate phase of the program. Supported program phases include preliminary design, critical design, procurement, subcomponent assembly and test, subsystem assembly and test, delivery, post-delivery support, and launch support.
The position requires interfacing with internal and external customers, as well as suppliers . Strong propulsion technical knowledge is required, as are solid presentation skills. Responsibilities include leading and participating in issue resolution and involves working on multiple projects. An understanding of cost/schedule development, tracking and reporting is also desired.
Basic Qualifications:
- An active in-scope DoDTop Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain program access

- Bachelor's degree from accredited institution in a STEM related discipline

- 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with propulsion systems

- Experience with earned value management

- Experience with fluid components

- Experience as a team lead

- Experience supporting bipropellant fluid propulsion systems

- Experience with hardware procurement/supply chain operations
- 7 years of experience with Masters; 4 years with PhD
