Space EEE Component Engineer 3

Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Space EEE Component Engineer 3 to join our dynamic and diverse team environment in Lanham, Maryland.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining the electrical component database to minimize total product life cycle cost, improve product performance and reduce operating expenses.
  • Managing Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP), Sentinel, REACT Issues, Parts Obsolescence, Sources of Supply, as it applies to Space Qualified Electrical, Electronic, and Electro-mechanical (EEE) components.
  • Creating and reviewing procurement specifications, determine and specify up screening requirements, writing failure analysis reports,and generating NSPARS as required.
  • Extensive interface withDesign Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Configuration Management, and Procurement functions as well as suppliers.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have one of the following: a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of Electrical, Electronic, and Electro-mechanical (EEE) experience OR a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of Electrical, Electronic, and Electro-mechanical (EEE) experience OR a PhD
  • Knowledge or Familiarity of military specs such as MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-1580, MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-PRF-38535, EEE-INST-002, etc.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access is required
  • This position requires extensive interface experience withDesign Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Configuration Management, Procurement functions as well as suppliers
  • An understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD) and NASA Electrical, Electronic, and Electro-mechanical (EEE) part requirements, radiation hardness issues, surface mount manufacturing
  • US Citizenship is required


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent Aerospace/Electrical Engineering degree
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a leadership Space component engineering position with an understanding of Polymeric, materials and processes knowledge.
