Software Tester 3 (Mid-level) Ability to obtain a clearance

Northrop Grumman Missions Systems Sector/ Integrated Intelligence business unit is seeking a mid-level Software Test Engineer developer for a program that provides large scale development, testing, deployment and O&M for the HUMINT community. The successful candidate will take part in a full life cycle development of components using COTS, GOTS, and various in-house applications. The individual will work with members of a diverse project team and participate in the overall design and creation of web-based and other software applications and must possess excellent communication skills.

The candidate will contribute to the project by providing testing support a government application. This includes developing, executing test cases, and creating the new testing documentation for the program. The candidate should have knowledge of Linux and PKI-based security requirements. The candidate will be work in a team environment and collaborating with other members of the project including developers, operations personnel, CM, and security personnel, etc. The candidate will be comfortable working in an agile development environment including familiarity with TDD (Test-Driven Development) to drive development efforts.

Duties may include:

Troubleshoot and complete problem report in a detailed manner.

Write automated test scripts, test plans, test cases and/or test procedures.

Write and maintain test scripts based on requirements or test cases received.

Must be able to perform requirements analysis and apply technical knowledge to design, write test plans, execute and debug test cases.

Must possess the ability to integrate the whole picture including Functional, Regression, Stress, and Load Testing.

Basic Qualifications:

US citizenship with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Candidate may also be required to successfully complete a Polygraph.

A minimum of 5 years of experience is required with a Bachelors degree, 2 years with a Masters degree, or 9 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience developing test strategies, plans, traceability matrices, procedures, reports, Unit, Integration, User Acceptance Testing, and User Interface Functional Testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient in the development and integration of test strategies, plans, traceability matrices, procedures, and reports.

Experience working on Linux and Windows-based systems.

Experience writing test cases and discrepancy reports.

Experience in an agile testing environment including TDD (Test-Driven Development)


BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or some other technical field.
