Software Test Engineer 2/3 (Entry/Mid-level)

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an entry to mid-level professional Cyber Test Engineer to join the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Team. The CDM program is a DHS-managed approach to fortifying the cybersecurity of government networks and systems. CDM provides federal departments and agencies with capabilities and tools that identify cybersecurity risks on an ongoing basis, prioritize these risks based upon potential impacts, and enable cybersecurity personnel to mitigate the most significant problems first.

This role includes the following:

Perform smoke testing, integration testing, regression testing, and formal qualification testing in an agile software development environment
Document software problems and verify fixes

Design, develop, and maintain software test plans, software test cases, software test procedures, and automated software tests in compliance with program functional, technical, and performance requirements.
Work with the lead Test Engineer and a team of Cyber Systems Engineers to establish and develop test methods and techniques
Troubleshoot and modify test tools and test scripts
Generate software test data, perform test data analysis, and develop test documentation
Participate in formal software inspection process, customer meetings, and user events.
Provide support to customer testers during acceptance testing; including test procedure walkthroughs, documentation of testing issues and test results, and answering questions on system functionality
Perform root cause analysis to determine defect cause
Maintain requirements traceability matrix linking test cases to the requirements verified and test results
This role is expected to be ~25% at customer sites in the Washington DC metro area.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either level 2 or level 3. To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

BS degree with 2 years of relevant experience (STEM - Science, Technology Engineering, Math or related area is preferred but not required), Masters degree and 0 year of experience, 4 years of additional related experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree.

Level 3 BS degree with 5 years of relevant experience (STEM - Science, Technology Engineering, Math or related area is preferred but not required), Masters degree and 3 years of experience, 4 years of additional related experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree.

Experience with generating software test plans, test cases, and test procedures
Experience with test execution, test analysis, and troubleshooting
Experience with MS Windows applications and proficient in the use of MS Office software
Ability to function in multi-disciplinary, team-oriented environment with frequent customer contact
Proven collaborator in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work independently in an Agile environment
Willingness to learn and participate in non-test activities, such as requirements development, customer interface, and risk management
Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS suitability EOD (Must be a US Citizen)
Ability to travel up to ~25% to customer sites in the Washington DC metro area

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiar with or have hands on with; Tenable Nessus/PVS, Forescout CounterACT, Nexpose Rapid7, IBM BigFix, McAFee ePO/PA/AC, FireMon, ServiceNow, RSA Archer, Cisco or Palo Alto solutions, NMAP, Sailpoint, TripWire IP360
Excellent communication skills
