Software Engineer 3 - Test and Integration Software Development

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure consistency and quality of software products
  • Develop test plans/procedures
  • Develop, execute, and maintain test plans and test code for test systems
  • Develop automated test scripts and test automation tooling
  • Act as a resourceful point of contact for both the test team and development teams
  • Support the development of teams in the investigation of issues
  • Perform structural code coverage testing and analysis
  • Proficiency with Agile Scrum Methodology and development experience in Java, C++ and Python
  • Experience with scripting languages
  • Root-cause analysis of test failures and communicating recommended actions

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of software engineering experience OR
  • Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 3 years of software engineering experience
  • Experience developing software / writing code in Java, C/C++, Ada or other OOP languages
  • An active in-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using industry standard tools and processes
  • Experience in implementing application builds/releases
  • Experience with automated testing
  • RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) experience
  • Experience developing software in an Agile environment
  • A good working understanding of scripting (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)${descr2}${descr3}
