Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:
The Software Engineer will develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized applications using software engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full life-cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance. The candidate will interface on occasion with the customer and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are required.
Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of software engineering experience OR
  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of software engineering experience
  • Experience developing software / writing code in C/C++ and Java
  • Working knowledge of USAF Airborne Ground Surveillance (AGS) and Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) systems
  • Two years USAF Open Mission System (OMS) services development experience
  • One year Solipsys Tactical Display Framework (TDF) operator display design/development experience
  • Two years Rhapsody UML Modeling experience
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite with add-ons like git and Confluence
  • Familiarity with Agile software development process
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows systems with basic commands
  • An active in-scope DoD Interim Secret, Secret or Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of USAF Open Mission System (OMS) services development
  • Proficiency in Solipsys Tactical Display Framework (TDF) operator display design/development
  • Extensive knowledge of USAF Airborne Ground Surveillance (AGS) and Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) systems
