Software Engineer 2/3

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector has a need for an SCI cleared Software Engineer to join a diverse team in Redondo Beach, CA.

The successful candidate will join the Consolidated Operations and Anomaly Support Team (COAST), in its Missions Support Subsystem (MSS) of a ground systems software area for a large restricted program, performing development and support of operational software in adherence to project processes, meeting schedule, customer, and contractual obligations.

Candidate should be highly motivated with a strong passion for problem solving to understand, design, code, and debug complex algorithms, providing elegant and innovative solutions.

The qualified candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills

Position offers domestic and international travel opportunities.

Position is contingent upon final active SCI security access.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 2 years related experience; Masters in STEM discipline with no experience
  • Software engineering experience
  • Fluent in C++ Objected-Oriented Design and Development
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SSBI date with the ability to obtain SCI access by start date

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years related experience; Masters in STEM discipline with 3 years related experience
  • Software engineering experience
  • Fluent in C++ Objected-Oriented Design and Development
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SSBI date with the ability to obtain SCI access by start date

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active SCI access
  • Coding and design experience of complex algorithmic applications
  • Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), to generate engineering artifacts for handoff to software development
  • Experience developing in a Linux environment using git tools or other DevOps
  • Experience in application design which integrate SQL and/or NoSQL databases
  • Previous in-depth domain knowledge of COAST software design and code preferred
