Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:
The COMSA Stores Management Team is looking for a Software Engineer that will develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized embedded Mission Systems applications using software engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full life-cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit and CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance. Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of software engineering experience OR
  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university
  • Experience in object-oriented analysis and design
  • Experience developing software with C/C++
  • Experience developing software targeted for Linux
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing software for embedded systems
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Eclipse and Atlassian tool suite
  • Experience developing software for embedded systems
  • Experience troubleshooting systems & hardware
  • Experience with Linux systems and Linux command line interface
  • Experience with Eclipse or other integrated development environment (IDE)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
