This position is for a manager over the Embedded System and Software Section for the Engineering and System Integration business unit of the Global Logistics and Modernization Division of the Technical Services Sector. The successful candidate will possess strong diverse skills in software development and sustainment, systems engineering, and program management. The candidate will also need to be versed in waterfall and Agile development frameworks and methodologies. They must promote engagement and meet the high level performance demands of this section. This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to prioritize and ensure program needs are met in a timely manner. Must be able to manage in a matrix type environment where resources are deployed to various programs as needed. It is important to obtain and develop new talent to support emerging needs, grow the skills of currently employees, develop backup resources, and increase overall coding efficiency in this very demanding environment.
The successful candidate will provide oversight of day to day software development and test operations and be responsible for managing budgets, schedules, resources, and software/hardware purchases to meet the mission. Candidate will also need to implement company policies/procedures and support section growth by pursuing new Business.
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering degree
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Experience with missile, ground support equipment, test equipment and/or flight systems
- Manager/Lead experience providing oversight of day to day software sustainment and development operations consisting of embedded and traditional software elements
- Program management experience on DoD programs with proven ability to interface with government customers and stakeholders
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other Engineering discipline
- Experience working with SAFe, Agile, or Kanban projects. Related certifications a plus
- Experience in identifying, pursuing, and obtaining new work scope
- Previous experience in developing proposals, SOWs, and BOEs
