Software Development Analyst 3

The qualified applicant will perform software development and integration tasks as a member of the Integrated Digital Product Development and Services(iDPDS) service line providing systems support of the NG Aerospace Systems' Microelectronics Wafer Fabrication production line. The majority of the software applications are in-house developed and leverage a variety of technologies, including but not limited to: Web Application Development (HTML, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, ProC, Visual Basic), Oracle DB, PL/SQL, MS Access, Tomcat and Apache web servers.

The candidate will join a team of application engineers reporting directly to the software development functional manager within the Enterprise Services sector, while also having dotted line accountability to the IT Program Office for the Space Systems Center of Excellence. He/she will participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, coding, system integrated testing and production implementation.

Position responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Directly support resolution of all software related problems within the ME production line for the individual's area of responsibility.
Directly interface w/ business partners in gathering requirements for engineering and manufacturing software support needs.
Support strategic planning of software tool usage through process development, automation and technology.
Participate in the routine maintenance of applications (apply and test patches, update service account passwords, address server and application vulnerabilities, support power outages, facilities moves and other off-shift maintenance activities, etc.).
Support various enterprise initiatives and technology and data center uplifts.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with a minor in Computer Science and 5 years of relevant professional experience, or 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD
Demonstrated experience as a software developer as part of an IT organization supporting information systems which leverage a diversity of database and web technologies.
Background as an Oracle/Web applications developer w/ demonstrated experience in Oracle PL/SQL (server side) along with web development technologies including SQL, HTML, Java and JavaScript. Some experience with one or more of the following would be considered a plus: CSS, PHP, Perl, ProC, MS Access and MS Visual Basic.
Ability to apply knowledge of relational concepts based on a solid background in structured query design and performance tuning as applied to the Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL or other relational database management systems.
Experience with Red Hat Linux (or some variant of the Unix OS such as Solaris, AIX or HP-UX).
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to provide occasional after-hours and weekend support as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience supporting Engineering, manufacturing/shop floor and/or supply chain business processes as an Information Systems software applications developer working for an Aerospace and Defense government contractor.
Basic familiarity with Agile software development concepts and tools (e.g., MS Team Foundation Server). Demonstrated experience with the Perl scripting language.
Demonstrated experience in the use of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
