Software Developer 3/4

Join us in developing state-of-the-art automated mission planning and management systems for manned and unmanned applications. These systems require solving complex mission planning and mission execution problems using extensive domain knowledge and creativity.

This position is for a Software Developer on the JMPS (Joint Mission Planning System) Framework. The work will involve maintaining and updating the JMPS Framework. JMPS provides unit-level mission planning for all phases of military flight operations and is being integrated to support fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, weapons, and sensors, including recision-guided munitions, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles for all military services. Additionally, coalition partners use JMPS to plan missions for combat operations and combined United States and coalition operations.

The qualified candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Ability to function in multi-disciplinary team-oriented environment and rapidly adapt to changing work priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 5 years related experience; Masters in STEM discipline with 3 years related experience; PhD in STEM discipline with no experience
  • US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • C# and/or C++ programming language with emphasis on object-oriented software development
  • Experience writing software for mission planning or related systems
  • Experience with MS Windows applications and proficient in the use of MS Office software


Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 9 years related experience; Masters in STEM discipline with 7 years related experience
  • US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • C# and/or C++ programming language with emphasis on object-oriented software development
  • Experience writing software for mission planning or related systems
  • Experience with MS Windows applications and proficient in the use of MS Office software

Preferred Qualifications:
  • JMPS (Joint Mission Planning System) experience is a plus
  • Experience developing component-based interface software, system testing, debugging, and deployment
  • Strong mathematics knowledge and in-depth engineering skills
  • Active or reinstatable DoD security clearance
