Software Configuration Management Engineer 3/4

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Software Configuration Management Engineer (SCM) 3/4 for its Baltimore campus.

The Software Configuration Manager will help to develop and implement software configuration management (SCM) on

a large and small scale programs in accordance with the Organization's Standard Software Process and contractual

requirements. The candidate must be able to coordinate/create configured builds for test and delivery. In addition,

they must be able to establish and implement procedures to coordinate changes to program data and products. An

understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices and standards is required.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, EE or a related engineering or technical discipline with at least 5 years of related experience (3 years with a Master's, 0 years with a PhD)
  • Experience with coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery
  • Understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices and standards is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple engineering disciplines (software, firmware, hardware, systems

engineering) and excellent writing skills are required.

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Minimal travel

Basic Qualifications for a Level 4:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, EE or a related engineering or technical discipline with at least 9 years of related experience (7 years with a Master's, 3 years with a PhD)
  • Experience with coordinating/creating configured builds for test and delivery
  • Understanding of SCM principles, concepts, industry practices and standards is required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple engineering disciplines (software, firmware, hardware, systems

engineering) and excellent writing skills are required

  • Active Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Minimal travel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of scripting languages is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical area
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software configuration management
  • Experience with implementing software configuration management (SCM) on a large scale program
  • Basic knowledge of ClearCase, ClearQuest, Linux and Windows
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher.
