Senior Quality Engineer (Continuous Improvement)

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

Marine Systems develops Power and Propulsion Systems and Launch Systems for the U.S. Navy. The candidate will provide œProcess Excellence? support with the goal of achieving superior program performance and achieve First-Time-Quality.

The team is committed to unmatched expertise in the core areas of process development, QMS compliance, and continuous improvement. The team manages a healthy pipeline of integrated, multi-disciplined continuous improvement projects, tools and solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support Marine Systems Performance, Quality, and Affordability efforts by implementing Six Sigma DMAIC / Continuous Improvement (CI) projects.
  • Provide subject matter expertise implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (DMAIC), Root Cause analysis and Corrective Action analysis, and other CI activities.
  • Define improvement projects and implement continuous improvement programs and initiatives.
  • Facilitate and coach improvement teams and solve complex technical problems utilizing DMAIC or related problem solving methodologies.
  • Establish and measure key indicators to assess project success and transition successful outcomes to program teams.
  • Perform statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • Works with Executives and provides executive level briefings.

MAQEA
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience within one or more of the following areas: Mission Assurance, Supply Chain, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent expertise
  • Possess Six-Sigma Black-Belt experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS or MS in Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
  • Six Sigma Master Black-Belt Certified.
  • Experience with Minitab or equivalent Statistical Software (R, Python, MATLAB, SPSS)
  • ISO9000/AS9100 audit experience
  • Possess a current Secret Clearance
