Senior Principal Systems Test Engineer

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Systems Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne FL.

Essential Functions:

This is a Deputy lead design Project Engineering position.

  • Responsibilities to include the Oversight of development, integration and documentation of Laboratory systems, electrical cable designs, Mechanical designs and assemblies for aerospace programs.
  • Oversee the Development and integration of wiring designs and mechanical designs of functional systems.
  • Candidate will be responsible to have tasks delivered on time and within budget.
  • Candidate will be expected to interface and present status presentations with multiple disciplines such as program management, electrical, mechanical, structures, stress, M&P, procurement, subcontractors, and manufacturing.
  • Familiar with utilizing AutoCAD Electrical, NX Mechanical design tools and Laboratory Infrastructure.
  • Oversee the Creation of block diagrams, wiring diagrams and detailed assemblies such as cable assemblies, Circuit Breaker assemblies, Relay assemblies etc.
  • Must be familiar using SAE AS 50881 (Mil-5088), additional MIL specs and proven commercial practices.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9+ years of flight test experience OR
* Master's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 7+ years of flight test experience OR
* PhD Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 4+ years of experience of flight test experience.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance.
* Must be able to obtain Special Access Program clearance prior to start

Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's Degree in a STEM from an accredited university
* Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
* Experience coordinating and supporting TRR's, FRR's, and SRB's in support of ground and flight test execution
* Willing to work additional assignments beyond the defined requirements of this position
* Experience with Airworthiness Criteria certification artifact identification and submittal to satisfy MIL-STD-516 requirements
* Active Top Secret DoD security clearance
