Senior Network Manager

Northrop Grumman Technical Services Sector is seeking a Senior Network Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Fairfax, VA. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s ENSS team. The applicant must be a well rounded individual in the areas of Network management, deploying government applications / networks and maintaining the networks throughout the United States.

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to::

General team supervision & performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning

  • Network planning / management
  • Manpower and resource assignment
  • Technical risk assessment and mitigation
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring
  • Maintain and ensure application of design / security processes and guidelines used by DHS to include knowledge of DHS security standards, policies and procedures that govern the ability to install complex IT solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Lead or support Program initiatives, recruiting ,project technology roadmap creation
  • Applicant will need to be an organized, self-starter that is process oriented and able to adapt to a newly defined and fast paced, ever-changing environment.

This position is also responsible for staffing and workload forecast; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute projects. The responsibilities include the recruiting, sourcing, onboarding, performance management and contract maintenance for the contractors working in the business area.

The successful candidate will clearly demonstrate strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance. He/she will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. Applicant’s specific job duties include managing Network personnel, coordinating / management of network configuration changes, financial control of projects, Security C&A activities. Applicant must be able to communicate with engineers, managers, and other stakeholders on the process, procedures, and technical merits of network changes to minimize risk and identify factors that may hinder successful approval and successful implementation of change requests, including verbal and written coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Applicant must have knowledge of creating project schedules, accurately estimating cost, time and resources required to complete Network activities, organizing and communicating information to key stakeholders, and assigning resources to each phase while adhering to DHS policies.

Duties include all aspects of implementation of network enhancements to include but not limited to: the ability to develop Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROM’s), Bill of Materials (BOM’s), Request for Change’s (RFC’s), and put together project schedules pertaining to the assigned project in MS Project. The applicant will be responsible for tracking budgetary information (to include labor hours, travel expenses, and tools) for assigned Network activities.

The Applicant must be able to interact with customers, conduct conferences to gather requirements for network installation and posses the ability to understand the requirements to document the process.

Travel is required (10%)
