Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a highly qualified, mission oriented individual to lead a team of payloads engineers located in San Diego, CA.
With responsibilities including (but not limited to) the following:
- Provide leadership, and direction for the Payloads IPT responsible engineers supporting the contract program manager, setting & operating to objectives.
- Lead a team of up to 30 payloads engineers and non-technical support staff in a high tempo work environment.
- Serve as the subcontract management team (SMT) Lead for one or more major suppliers.
- Maintain the technical integrity and performance subsystem as defined in the statement of work.
- Develop and administers budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
- Gather and report on performance metrics.
- Support the program office with process improvement, implementation, and opportunities.
- Conducting regular briefing to program, functional, and engineering management.
- Build and maintain a culture that empowers employees, establishes personal and team accountability, motivates team performance, encourages development, and supports innovation
- Conducting business travel up to 50% of the time that include frequent day trips to Palmdale, CA
ELEPAY
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university
- Experience with payload subsystems or avionics integration experience.
- Minimum of 7 years engineering or project management experience
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Ability to receive Special Program Access

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven leadership skills
- Functional Management Experience
- Subcontract Management Team (SMT) experience
- High level of knowledge of Earned Value Management
- Experience managing large budgets of both labor and material
- Advanced level of understanding of one or more payload subsystems. Involves a broad grasp of involved practices and procedures
